How can businesses around the world address the global challenges of our time by adopting responsible production and consumption practices? It is now a priority for the production system to expand sustainably, but few have begun the transition. Stars4SD intends to play its part in this process by supporting young entrepreneurs on their path to sustainability.
Due to the excellent results achieved during the project’s operational period, Stars4SD was invited by Push to tell its story at UTC Communities’ Sustainable Experience, an event at the former Convent of the Reformed Fathers in Petralia Sottana held on Friday, September 22.
Today the convent is home to Madonie Living Lab, an innovation laboratory that supports community, administration, research and business in the implementation of new ideas and models of collaboration. And UTC Communities’ Sustainable Experience was an opportunity to recount the journey of Stars4SD, which over time has connected small businesses and young entrepreneurs, promoting sustainable development processes and a peer review system in the application of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the same time, at Madonie Living Lab we were able to get to know some of the people doing business in the Madonie area, studying together strategies and possibilities for sustainable, resilient and inclusive regeneration of businesses and the communities with which they interact. And we had the pleasure of working with aCube, the Avanzi business incubator, a young and very dynamic entrepreneurial reality based in Milan.
