Is it possible to provide support to migrants, asylum seekers and refugees on structures to help them in their social inclusion process?
The SOFIE – Support for Refugees Families project is trying to answer this question with the creation of an online tool.
As a matter of fact, the SOFIE online platform is currently being developed within the project. Its aim is to inform migrants, asylum seekers and refugees on where to find the closest support on the following sectors:
- Education
- Health
- Legal Support
- Sports
- Child caring
The SOFIE online platform is central for providing information and support to migrants who will choose to benefit from it. They will be able to easily access the tool through computers or their mobile phones and find the relevant services in their host communities.
With the aim of carrying out an evaluation and getting feedback in order to perfection the platform, a pilot assessment will take place at CAS San Francesco on the 16th and 17th October. The piloting will be divided into two different moments.
The first moment will be focused on Team Building activities and workshops based on orientation to institutions, centers and organizations which provide support services for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.
The second moment will consist of the testing and surfing of the online platform. The users testing the tool will be asked to provide specific feedback.
The piloting phase and feedback of the SOFIE online platform will be of vital importance for its evaluation and improvement. Participants will be asked to express their opinion on the online platform’s utility, design, practicality and whether it is complete and easy to use. This will allow its refinement and to determine whether it meets its objective of effectively supporting migrants, asylum seekers and refugees’ social inclusion process.
