SVE in Austria a contatto con la natura

CESIE offers you the opportunity, thanks to European Volunteering Service (EVS), to submerge yourself in nature and work in contact with children in the lovely town of Krems (Austria). The project promoted by Jugendinfo NÖ is looking for a volunteer from 02/09/2013 until 02/06/2014, to work inside Waldexxx.

Waldfexxx is a special form of kindergarden in a wooden area near Krems – Donau – Lower Austria. The children and the team are exclusively in open nature, no matter what the weather is like. The school is located in a wooded area near Krems, Danube (Austria South), area included from UNESCO in the World Cultural Heritage of mankind. Krems an der Donau is the eastern gateway to the Wachau Valley, one of Europe’s most beautiful river landscapes. It is also one of the oldest cities in the land. Its historical center of Krems is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Over the centuries, builders and architects have created a unique cityscape here that has been lovingly cared for and preserved.

But Krems is also very open to modern life: contemporary art and culture play an important role here, adding variety and energy to public areas throughout the city. Not to forget Danube Festival, East-West Music Festival, Wachau Film Festival, Folk Music Festival and many other musical and theatrical events.

Proposed Activities:

The children, participating to the project,  are aged between 3 and 7 years and a pedagogical team of three persons is there to accompany them throughout the mornings. About 20 kids take part in the program. There is additional team time for the staff members of about 2 hours in the afternoons. In the mornings the staff take a walk of approximately half an hour from Krems to the premises of the kindergarden which serves as emotional warm up and time to exchange personal impressions concerning the kids. Voluntary goal is to support the children in their activities and  to help them  to do things themselves.

This will give you the opportunity to enjoy a range of opportunities: working in a team, get information on music, role playing, theater and nature and learn more about the educational concept of Maria Montessori.

Volunteer Profile:

  • Interest in the pedagogical concept of Maria Montessori;
  • Interest in working in a team;
  • Creativity, openness of mind;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • And of course a lot of patience.

Are you interested? Want to Participate? then do not miss this wonderful opportunity and send us your CV and a motivation letter (explaining why and how you would like to participate), both documents in English, no later than the 1st May 2013 to the following address: sve@cesie.org

MOVE: young people in action for an inclusive Europe

MOVE involved young people from Italy, Spain, Belgium and Cyprus to raise awareness of migration and promote social inclusion and European cohesion. Through workshops, campaigns and the MOVE Goose Game, participants developed empathy and awareness of the challenges related to inclusion. The course concluded with the presentation of the MOVE Decalogue of Inclusion, a tool for more cohesive societies.
