Europe is ready to celebrate the 2015 European Youth Week (EYW2015), which is going to take place during a two-week period, from April 27th to May 10th , full of events, workshops and youth conferences.
Starting from its first edition in 2007, the event has been constantly growing, and today it can be considered as one of the major appointments within the European cultural agenda for young people who are interested in learning more about mobility opportunities and funding programs.
This year, the main theme of the EYW2015 is Unlocking young people’s potential as a key to participation, in working life and in society, in order to emphasize the importance of youth empowerment as a way to promote democracy, citizen participation and social inclusion.
Furthermore, particular attention will be dedicated to Erasmus+ guidelines, so as to encourage activities in the youth field and raise awareness about youth workers’ crucial role in civil society.
Activities will be implemented in all 33 countries participating in the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, and in Italy events will take place in many cities. Within the youth week, the most outstanding youth projects will also be acknowledged through the Youth Awards 2015, with a view to enhance the job of organisations active in the youth field while inspiring other organisations.
In addition, EYW2015 will see the launch of Ideas Labs, a new concept to give young people space to express their fresh and inspiring ideas on youth empowerment, employment and entrepreneurship, as well as global development issues.
Young people wishing to get involved in the EYW2015 can visit the website which provides for an overview of the activities organised throughout Europe.
CESIE is strongly involved in promoting activities for youth through different types of European projects.
In order to celebrate the European youth Week, below is an overview of some of our current mobility opportunities:
- “Equality for Change”: this international project envisages both local and mobility activities about empowerment of women, gender equality and multimedia. In the middle of June 2015, 6 Italian young people will be involved in an international training about how to use multimedia responsibly. If you want to participate, click here.
- “More: Many Opportunities Real Equality”: it is a 2-year EVS project involving 24 Italian young people in several European countries (France, Portugal, Slovenia, Turkey, Germany, Bosnia, Greece) and in different types of activities (project management, educational activities promoting European programming in the local community, recreational activities with disabled people etc.). Vacancies are currently available for a mobility in Bosnia and Turkey.
