Schools and education systems play a vital role in the transition towards more sustainable societies. Through consultations carried out in Italy, Germany, Greece and Serbia, UpSpace has gathered recommendations and insights on how to strengthen the role of education in the green transition.
UpSpace promotes educational programmes focused on sustainability and the green transition, engaging students and teaching staff in workshops, digital tools and innovative methodologies to tackle today’s environmental challenges.
Education and training should be oriented towards the development of sustainability-related competences, in order to prepare people to live and act sustainably within society.

The transition towards an energy system based on renewable sources – such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass – is no longer a choice, but an imperative.
UpSpace promotes climate change mitigation as a cultural initiative, engaging schools and communities to integrate sustainability into curricula and develop green skills. The project, launched in Palermo with partners from four countries, aims to raise awareness among youth and stakeholders through training, educational materials and policy cooperation.
