Tambacounda a city in the deep heart of the western Africa, the main city of the south of east of Senegal, 400 km from Dakar, where the sounds of the city and the colors of nature mix together driving people far away from the western lifestyles. In a full meeting with senegalese culture in all its different nuances.
In Tambacounda volunteers will discover the action of Kamben an organization that works in local development and promotion of sustainable tourism.
Kamben is working to reinforce solidarity, conflict solving, civil society strengthen and promotion of activities for an economical and social development.
The Senegalese organization is hosting 3 EVS volunteers from European countries, in a project that will help local development in the local community. In the organization will conduct to the creation of a website and database and further on will fosters local and international partnerships.
During this project volunteers will help the managers with funding management, give the managers organisational tools (registers, an account book etc), help the managers to develop partnerships through meetings, seminars, and conferences, create guides on sensitization of sustainable tourism, culture and tradition, and develop travelers awareness about responsible consumption.
Volunteers accommodation is set in Tambacounda, in a shared flat. They will receive monthly budget for food, the working hours are 35 for weeks. There is 1 volunteer place available from September 2011 for 6 months.
