The NATIONAL CENTER FOR CIVIL SOCIETY DEVELOPMENT (NCCSD) is a non-governmental organization that has been working to strengthen its engagement with civil society and has a team built up of law, economy, social development, public dministration, civic engagement and community experts which have a rich national and international experience acquired as a result of their research and participation in various projects.
We are contributing to promote initiatives in the benefit of the civil society sector and to achieving all our development objectives, especially for young and socially vulnerable people, which will in effect greatly influence the evolution to a veritable and well established democratic consolidation.
Urban Eco-Art
Place: Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
Number of volunteers: 5.
Project duration: 6, 9, 12 months.

Volunteer project tasks: The Center is duly requesting a team of volunteers who will create EVS gardens in the parks of Chisinau. Project goals and objectives: improving esthetic and ecological environment of Chisinau. Promoting art as a method of social communication; educating civic spirit among the inahbitants of Chisinau; promoting a healthy and ecological style of life.
General project description: each volunteer involved in the EVS Gardens project will create on his own (but with all the necessary support from the staff of the organization) a small artistic garden in a park in Chisinau. For example there will be several small gardens of different volunteers in the same park. Each garden has to be artistically designed and decorated. During all their stay the volunteers will have to maintain and improve the garden as to have several artistic gardens in the end of volunteers’ stage. The concept of the gardens will be created by each volunteer with the support of the coordinators. The general idea of the project is to create with time hundreds of small EVS gardens as to improve the esthetic and ecological situation of the parks located in the capital city of Moldova. Besides the gardens the volunteers will be involved in different ecological campaigns, seminars, workshops and will conduct from time to time public lessons on ecological issues.
Volunteer project activities: designing and creating an artistic garden (choosing the flowers, trees or other plants to be planted); planting the gardens with the help of other volunteers and staff of the organization; finding an artistically-genuine concept for the garden; participating in ecological campaigns all over the country (although
the activities will be mainly concentrated in Chisinau); preparing public presentations on ecological issues; supporting (if possible) EVS or other types of volunteers in the implementation of their ecological projects.
Note: Now and again the volunteers will be involved in social campaigns besides their main activities.
Volunteer’s profile: although there are no special criteria demanded except for the candidate’s interest for the project, during the selection process of the volunteers we will consider previous journalistic experience or the volunteer aiming of getting acknowledged to this field. Also we would prefer to work with people with strong communication skills and teamwork capacities.

Urban Culture and Art
Number of volunteers: 5.
Project duration: 6, 9, 12 months.
Field of work: Art & Culture.
Volunteer project tasks: Volunteers will make a series of video and photo reportages about the urban peculiars, culture and art of Chisinau city, as well as a series of public exhibitions based on their works.
Project goal and objectives: promoting Chisinau cultural heritage, social and art life; finding specific cultural and social characteristics of the urban life style of Chisinau, which would give a distinct note to the city compared to other European capital cities and as well highlighting the similarities between the social and cultural life of European cities and Chisinau; making easier access to information on cultural and social life of Chisinau and at the same time presenting the info from European citizens perspective.
General project description: considering the fact that there is little realistic information about Chisinau and Moldova in general, the volunteers will have the opportunity to discover and cumulate all the aspects of Chisinau daily life. They will have to make a series of photo and video materials about the real cultural and social life of the city, its people and (urban) customs. They will emphasize the differences and similarities between Chisinau and other European cities. Their work will be presented in the frameworks of a series of public exhibitions. Also the volunteers will design a blog (webpage) where all the materials will be presented and could be easily accessed by any interested person. Depending on the period of the stage, the volunteer will have to make a minimum of 3 public exhibitions. The volunteers will be assisted inlall their activities and will be given professional support (photo, video and language courses).
Volunteer project activities: to make photo reportages about the social and cultural life of Chisinau; to make interviews and write newsletters; to publish all collected materials; to popularize the blog containing the relevant information; to organize photo exhibitions and video presentations; to work closely with the staff of the organization in the implementation of the project.
