The UBUNTU III project, this is its name, is expecting the arrival of 36 volunteers, a first round of 18 and a second round of 18. The second group will arrive a few days before the departure of the first group (30 October 2011), so they can share their experience with the new ones, that will have the task to continue the local activities of the first ones, obviously bringing their own personal contribution.

For 9 months, they will offer their contribution and their time for different social organizations and associations of Palermo, that are all united by the same mission: help immigrants integration in Palermo, and lead forward the values of democracy and mutual respect.

It will be an opportunity to give to the new volunteers the tools to introduce them to Palermo’s reality, with suggestions and to let the project UBUNTU III continue to offer sustainability to the activities undertaken by the young people.

The social organizations, which are partners of the network CESIE, where the European volunteers will be working, are: Ubuntu, Santa Chiara, Giardino di Madre Teresa, Centro Astalli, Centro Agape, Libera, Casa di tutte le genti. It is a wide range project, that is able to strengthen the local network and address all the associations towards a common direction.

There are two vacancy places for volunteers from Austria. If you are interested, you come from Austria and you are ready to leave quickly: contact us at mobility@cesie.org

Ubuntu III, indeed, wants to give a chance to the European volunteers to get to know another country, another culture and another language, and at the same time to participate in the realization of a volunteering project, that is very useful for the local collectivity.

It is a great chance to have a reciprocal enrichment and growth for the volunteers, the local community and the migrants many of whom will be working with.
