CESIE (Italy), coordinated by KCZIA (Poland) and together with Inovafor (Portugal), EuroED (Romenia), METGEM (Turkey), Fundar (Spain) and AC Diversity (United Kingdom), have taken on Corporate Volunteering as a bridge between the world of work and education and are developing a set of materials on best practices of cooperation between Secondary Schools and Businesses.
In a dynamic society teachers are expected to prepare students for jobs that may not yet exist. By working with employers, teachers can ensure that they help students receive up-to-date knowledge and experience of the working environment. Opportunities to work with employers gives students an insight into employability skills, both in general and in-depth. Involvement of employers in the curriculum will allow students to develop their practical skills, interpersonal skills and analytical skills that match the requirements of potential employers.
The CVE project – Corporate Volunteering as a bridge between the world of Schools and Work – aims to build and extend knowledge among school leaders and teachers in secondary schools, about the possibilities/opportunities of cooperation between schools and the workplace, in particular via Corporate Volunteering. This will be achieved through developing a coordinated approach towards educating trainers.
