The creative thought project CESIE has been coordinating for more than a year is finally coming to an end. This April, from the 10th to the 15th, the last scheduled meeting will take place in Bulgaria, in a small mountain site called Bansko.
The meeting plans a general evaluation of the project and of the impact it had. Moreover, many workgroups are planned, with a final goal of analysing the good practices developed by partners during the project. These practices will be collected in a handbook aimed at valorising the project results.
In the last few months CESIE created different types of final products (a T – shirt of the project and two informative brochures)in order to promote the project and its results.
The project implementation coincided with the European Year for Creativity and Innovation (http://www.create2009.europa.eu/) promoted by European Commission and aimed at “increasing the awareness on the importance of creativity and innovation for personal, social and economic development, at promoting good practices, at stimulating research and education and at promoting debate and politic development on pertinent issues”. The Year also wanted to give out the message that “creativity and innovation contribute to economic prosperity and social and individual health”.
During the whole year many relevant documents were developed around the main issues. One of them is “Manifesto for Creativity and Innovation in Europe”. This document stresses the importance of creativity in all aspects of life and in overcoming political crisis and barriers. It encourages different European governments, together with other social actors (NGO, civil society) to undertake different initiatives aimed at mainstreaming creativity and innovation in every sector of society.
