Social theatre, and more generally the artistic disciplines, can be tools for investigation, reflection and intervention in everyday life, as well as a way of making demands to political representatives.

CESIE and Teatro Atlante, through the project My Elections My EU!, offer the possibility of embarking on an artistic-social journey, which will take place in several stages, in several European countries and will lead the young participants to Brussels to express their demands to the newly elected members of the European Parliament in the European elections to be held in June 2024.

The course will begin in February, with two social theatre workshops at the Teatro Atlante. The workshops will explore some of the social theatre techniques developed during the 20th century. Participants will experience practical exercises and methodologies from some of the most important contemporary masters.

Later, in March, the path will continue with a meeting with experts to learn more about the European Union and the European elections, why it is important to vote, the role of elected members of the European Parliament, and at the same time begin to work out requests to present to future MEPs.

The pathway does not end here!

In April and May, five lucky and motivated young people will continue the journey that will take them one week to Lampedusa and one week to Austria, two hotspots that will give them the opportunity to deal more directly with the two most topical issues – climate change and migration – and where they will participate in artistic workshops of various disciplines.

During these two international workshops, a total of 25 young people from different European countries will build an artistic performance which they will later perform in front of the newly elected members of the European Parliament in Brussels to pose their social demands.
