Research phase of the Virtus – Virtual Vocational Education and Training – project has just concluded, through the research the training needs of those who work or wish to work in tourism and social enterprise sectors have been investigated, and the data analysis will lead to the development of two online courses.

The Needs analysis report will be presented to the EU stakeholders to support policy makers in the development of new policies in both sectors.

The main project’s aim is to open up a fully functional virtual VET center, which will provide adult learners with certified modular courses corresponding to regional needs. In particular, the virtual VET center will provide two modular certified courses on: Tourism and Hospitality Services and Social Entrepreneurship.

In November the project’s partners came together in Bilbao (Spain) to discuss how to implement this online infrastructure.

The Virtus project is a 2 year project co-funded by Erasmus+ Key Action (KA3): Support for policy reform, Prospective Initiatives Forward-Looking Cooperation Project, the project aims at mainstreaming virtual vocational education and training, providing certified modular learning outcomes in Europe and beyond, supporting job creation, productivity, competitiveness and innovation.
