Second Chance Education.eu team meets in Heerlen, NetherlandsThe 14th and 15th of January the SecondChanceEducation.eu team gathered in Heerlen, the Netherlands, hosted by partner Betawerk.

SecondChanceEducation.eu (SCE) is a digital platform developed within the DISCO – DIgital Second Chance Opportunities project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships in the field of adult education. The platform is designed especially for the teachers and trainers of second chance education. It is a European learning platform for teachers, providing them with a variety of tools and initiating an active network of second chance education practitioners.

During the 4th consortium meeting the team has been working hard on improving the website, testing the internal mechanisms and adding new functionality to the platform.

Moreover, the partners discussed about the international work placements they are organising within the project for 40 young people. The partners are big aware that the mobility of learners plays an important role in creating new job opportunities and improving the chances of entering the European labour market.

The International mobility experience is increasingly recognised as a new non-formal education opportunity through which to gain valuable personal and professional skills and thus promote the career.

The SCE platform aims to support the process through providing practical assistance through all stages of the trajectory via SecondChanceEducation.eu.

The partners expect all involved actors to acquire new skills and competences during the project at both personal and professional levels.

Finally the partners planned the final conference that will be held in Brussels in June 2016, for the conference the partners will invite relevant stakeholders in order to discuss issues related to the labour market integration and social inclusion for the second chance group.

Apart from working hard, they also explored the city, for example seeing the Heerlen Murals.

The platform, like the world of education, is constantly evolving and never fixed. We invite you to contribute your knowledge and become part of the living tapestry of Second Chance Education!
