The third meeting between the partners of the LION project, held in Palermo from October 10th to 12th, has just been completed. The project aims at integrating Education, Living Life Well and Employment through the development of good practices, guidelines and research to be shared with all those who work with NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). The project is now in its most active phase, and its partners have drawn the new schedule for future actions.
Further developments
The first concrete step forward is the official launch of the website www.lionlearning.eu, on which you can already find out all the information that partners have been collecting, and are currently testing. The good practices on the education field with NEETs will be available for download soon.
As far as Living Life Well is concerned, a research has been launched on the successful cooperation policy related to the housing companies (known as Case di accoglienza or Case-famiglia in Italy, as Pensionnats d’excellence in France, as Kolping houses in Germany).
Another research will be conducted through direct interviews with companies engaged in different professional areas of interest, in the European partner countries of the project. The interviews will provide an insight into the cooperation level existing between training institutes, educational centers and the world of work.
Public event
On October 11th, a public event took place at CESIE – Centro Studi e Iniziative Europeo. In this occasion, Mari Bognar and Reinhold Schiffers – two LION partners and professional educators and trainers -, collected ideas and motivations from a group of trainers in order to develop a framework of skills that trainers and educators should have, when working with NEET groups. The meeting was useful for both sides, and its outcomes will be used for developments in the next months.
