Are you a manager, HR or trainer who would like to improve sustainability within your organization?Read the article and learn more about the developments of the Green-ON project.

We are now more than halfway through this journey we are sharing together, and it seems like a good time to tell you a little more about this initiative and the important results we are getting closer to achieving.

Green-ON sees the collaboration of European partners actively engaged in education and sustainable development. Aware of the importance and responsibility held by organisations – whether private, public, for-profit, or non-profit – play in driving ecological transition, and recognising the key influence of professionals such as managers, HR specialists, and trainers as drivers and catalysts of this process,  it was decided to promote an initiative aimed at improving knowledge about the sustainable management of organisations. This initiative offers a free training package designed for these professionals, equipping them with various tools to inspire and guide them toward a green transformation, where eco-innovation is seen as both an economic growth opportunity and a path to achieving environmental goals.

Now, let’s dive deeper into the work Green-ON partners have been doing over the past year and why this project might be of particular interest to you!

What Green-ON offers

As mentioned, the main goal has been to develop a training package with diverse and complementary tools, specifically designed for professionals from a variety of organisations—profit, non-profit, public, and private. Given the wide range of profiles and sectors involved, the training focuses more on soft skills rather than technical expertise, ensuring broad applicability.

The training tools that will be developed are the following:

  • the Green-ON Manual;
  • a self-assessment tool;
  • a card game (Greenispiration-ON);
  • an eco-coaching methodology (Corporate ECHO Program).

These tools will aim to enhance key competencies in sustainability, also fostering self-awareness through different approaches.

Green-ON Manual: divided into five chapters, this is the primary training tool, offering theoretical insights, exercises, video content, and best practices to help participants fully engage with sustainability topics. Key themes will include eco-innovation, green workforce management, circular economy, sustainable communication, and psychology for sustainable management.

Self-Assessment Tool: this tool will allow participants to evaluate their organization’s performance on sustainability topics covered in the manual. The results can help prioritize areas for improvement and guide decision-making in the green transition process.

Card Game (Greenispiration-ON): designed to spark environmental awareness within teams, this game will encourage reflection on individual habits and promote new, sustainable workplace behaviors.

Eco-coaching method: complementing the game, the Corporate ECHO Program will offer five independent workshops aimed at strengthening environmental awareness and action.

The development of these tools has been guided by key competencies identified, amongst others, in the GreenComp framework, the European framework for sustainability competencies.

What’s next?

In the coming months, project partners will finalize the resources, translating them into multiple languages – Italian, Polish, Hungarian, Greek, and Portuguese – and testing them with a group of managers and trainers for feedback. Once revisions are complete, we will be ready for the final launch: the training package will be available for free through project channels, and a series of final events will be held in each country to maximize its reach.Follow the project on Facebook and LinkedIn to stay updated.
