In the next days the ICT pilot course will start and take place at CESIE’s office, in the framework of Europe 50+ project, co-funded by Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 – Strategic partnership for adult education.
The participants of this course are going to be adult over 50 willing to improve their ICT skills or even being at their first approach with ITC items.
In the framework of this project, we already held in Palermo from October 28th to November 3rd, 2015 the 20 hour English course, which was addressed to people over 50 years of age. Throughout the lessons, 8 participants had the opportunity to ameliorate their knowledge of English language and test different methods and approaches to language learning. After having analysed their learning needs, participants agreed on a programme which blended the study of relevant grammar points, games and activities aimed at developing learners’ language skills. All the lessons had been designed in order to provide participants with a meaningful linguistic context which would consequently allow them to enhance their understanding of English morphology and phonology, as well as to improve their receptive and productive skills.
Moreover, participants were fundamental so as to evaluate the effectiveness of Role-play and the so-called Lukas’s Method, in developing learners’ speaking fluency and listening skills and sub-skills. These two methods, among others, are currently being tested in the language courses implemented by partner organizations in Czech Republic, Germany and Poland.
We would like to thank Fedela, Giovanna, Gloria, Leontine, Teresa, Mimma, Salvo, Silvio and Teresa for their enthusiasm and their amazing contribution to our lessons and Europe 50+ project.
Europe 50+ is a two year project (December 2014 – November 2016), co-funded by Erasmus + programme, KA2 – Strategic partnership for adult education. 4 partner organizations, Wisamar (Germany), ZDZ Katowice (Poland), Alvit (Czech Republic) and CESIE (Italy), are working together in order to discover and test innovative teaching methods aimed at fostering learning opportunities in the fields of ICT and foreign languages for adults over 50 years of age.
The main goal of the consortium is to promote active citizenship and to improve the employability skills of the target group, by means of enhancing their competences in ICT and foreign languages.
