Active citizen participation today is more and more important nowadays. Democracy is an ongoing process that requires the engagement of people, regardless of age, background or education. Citizens Xelerator was created with the goal of strengthening our active role in society by promoting dialogue, inclusion and empowerment, especially for those in vulnerable situations.

To concretely advance these goals, the “Citizens Xelerator Days: Celebrating Democracy” event was organized in Ciminna: a day to celebrate active civic participation and promote democracy.

Together with Auser Ciminna, we constituted an opportunity to share stimulating and inspiring ideas with citizen protagonists of all ages eager to deepen their skills and share concrete experiences on how to contribute to the improvement of the social fabric.

To celebrate The International Day of Democracy, a series of interactive discussion sessions were held, where participants could reflect on the importance of civic participation and how each of us, through small gestures and daily actions, can become an agent of positive change. ‘Citizens Xelerator Days’ was not only an educational opportunity, but also a moment of mutual inspiration aimed at exchanging ideas for the future of the community.

The Citizens Xelerator project aims to create innovative learning opportunities in vocational training, promoting employment and inclusion of NEETs and adults with skills development needs.
