When we hear about Transcendental Meditation it is difficult to think that this innovative practice, increasingly widespread in the Western world, today is widely followed among European schools and educational systems thanks to a project like… FRIENDS!

The FRIENDS project – Fostering Resilience, Inclusive Education and Discrimination in Schoolsis an Erasmus + project co-funded by the European Union and implemented in various European countries in primary and secondary schools and also addressed to adult education systems.

During the 3rd dissemination meeting, the school staff and the project partners came together to share key experiences and good practices collected in this second year of implementation of the Moment of Quiet in Class program in schools. Through the practice of 2 times a day of this unique and innovative technique, the students and teachers who took part in it told their positive experience through videos, creative works, drawings and interviews all aimed at witnessing how the program is giving its unexpected fruits, improving the climate of learning and collaboration in the classroom, with better performances for students thanks to an improved ability to concentrate and manage stress in the classroom.

The teachers, on the other hand, have described how their own relationship with the students has improved by establishing a climate of calm and more intimate and inclusive teaching with implications also for their personal life.

The FRIENDS project is continuing its program implementation phase in other schools and classes in the 4 European partner countries (Italy, UK, Portugal and Belgium). The final results will be disseminated and shared in December, at the final conference to be held in Brussels!
