A final multiplier event was held in Palermo, in Italy, on December 16th 2016 with a view to spread the word about the outputs developed within the project LangMOOCs – Language Massive Open Online Courses .
The event was organised by CESIE at Regina Margherita high school, and it involved around 50 participants among students of the 3rd and 4th year of the high school, and teachers.
The event kicked-off with a general presentation of the project objectives and progress, and with a description of the main outputs which are available on CESIE’s digital Library, such as the Research report on MOOCs pedagogical framework, the Research report on available MOOCs for language learning, and namely the interactive version of the LangMOOC toolkit .
The event went on with a presentation of the Open Educational Resources contained in the pilot MOOCs for language learning, easily accessible by registering in the Moodle platform: https://study.langmooc.com
During this practical session, the platform was demonstrated in front of the students: all 5 courses were presented and a practical demonstration of the English and German courses was made, with an active involvement of the students attending.
The last part of the event saw the intervention of two CESIE’s volunteers from Lebanon and Jordan, who took part in the pilot session of the Italian course earlier in August 2016. One of them talked about how the Italian course helped her learn Italian when she had just arrived in Italy, and how the course structure provided her with an inspiration for activities to be used when giving language tuitions. The second volunteer shared is experience with the Italian course as a teacher of Italian language, explaining how the resource supported him in giving language tuitions to Arab-speaking people.
The event, which ended with a buffet offered by CESIE, was therefore also a chance for an intercultural exchange between Italian students and teachers and volunteers from other countries.

The multiplier event in Palermo marked the end of the activities implemented at local level throughout the 2 years of the LangMOOCs project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which is closing in December 2016.
