The objective of the comparative report is to identify the current situation in relation with the role of coaches and sport clubs in the social inclusion of children from disasvantaged target groups in Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Malta, Bulgaria and Slovenia. The research was developed through different steps:
- A desk research on sport clubs and sports initiatives organised to promote the social inclusion of children coming from difficult context
- Identification of 3 best practices at national, regional, local level on training courses aimed at promoting social inclusion of children from disadvantaged social groups
- A field research through the organisation of 2 focus groups in every country with coaches and sport clubs and local community to understand the social problems related to children and sport and the skills and competences that coaches should have to work with children
The report represents the first step for the development of a training course online and face to face addressed to coaches and sport clubs that want to work with children at risk of social exclusion.
