The CAPE consortium aims to share good practices from across Europe and across sectors (VET , second chance and informal learning) to ensure teachers, trainers and counselors have the necessary knowledge and skills to support young people to develop career management skills (CMS). CAPE will train teaching staffs, improve links with employers and develop resources to support and improve careers advice and guidance given to young people at risk of ESL.
The CAPE consortium consists of 9 partners from Poland (Stowarzyszenie Fenix), The Netherlands (EfVET and Euricon), Hungar (FSZK), Romania (Scoala Gimnaziala Nr5 Piatra Neamt), Italy (CESIE), Cyprus (Intercollege), Spain (CECE) and Portugal (ANESPO), all who are experienced VET providers or specialists in second chance education or have experience of working with young disadvantaged people who are NEET/at risk of NEET.
The first Transnational Partner Meeting took place last month the 11th-12th February in Lodz – Poland. Moreover the whole partnership actively has moderated and participated in the Local Multiplier Event, which took place the 12th of February, sharing the results of the researches conducted so far and collecting participants (Educator Providers) feedbacks.
In the first phase of the project, the CAPE partnership has conducted research on existing good practices about the Career Advice and Services in EU and in particular in the partner country. In the current phase of the project, partners are conducting Needs Analysis on Employers, Education Providers and Young people at risk of Early School Leaving in order to get a comprehensive overview. The results will enable them to developed a training the trainer programme, with 4 training events across Europe, and which will be tested among the partnership – in the next project phases. To ensure sustainability partnership will gather the results in an accompanying Training Handbook and teaching/learning resources that support the teacher alongside an e-learning platform and Employer Engagement Handbook.
The expected impact is an improvement in teacher/trainer competence and knowledge of the job market and current career options, enabling young people to develop career management skills and make better career choices.
