38 youth workers participated in the training course Healthfit- Promoting wellbeing in youth, which was held in Baida from the 15th to 23rd of November. The project, funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ Programme, involved 17 organisations from 15 countries: 9 Programme Countries (Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Romania and Slovenia) and 6 Eastern Partnership Countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).
Theme
Healthfit addressed a theme of great and current importance: the physical and mental wellbeing. Nowadays we registered a growing number of people with disorders and diseases related to incorrect food habits, the project has emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyles to improve our health and life perspectives.
Activities and methodologies
Three trainers with great international experience in managing training courses conducted Healthfit activities. Thanks to non-formal methodologies, which ensure the active participation, all participants contributed to the learning process of the training. They combined sport activities (physical exercises, yoga, grassroots games), intercultural evenings, sessions dedicated to reflection about sports, nutrition and fitness, and worked for the creation and development of new project proposals.
Results
The participants, thanks to the activities carried out and the methods used, have increased their awareness of the importance of healthy habits and regular physical activity, have gained skills both in food and sport sectors and in the employment opportunities in these fields. They also had the opportunity to meet people and organizations from different countries, with different backgrounds and competencies, laying the basis for new cooperation and developing project ideas together.
And now?
The next steps of Healthfit will consist in the construction of the Healthfit Portfolio based on the knowledge, experience and tools used during the TC and the Healthfit Planner for young people with suggestions and tips for healthy lifestyles.
