The film “Crossing the Line – Palermo” is coming to an end. After twelve meetings during May, the editing team has more than 15 hours of audiovisual material with which they will done a montage for the final documentary.
The young participants coming from La Noce, Ciaculli, Brancaccio, Ciaculli and Via Messina Marina have spent very nice time during this period, since the first meeting in San Saverio’s Church until the last interviews in the neighborhood La Noce. They have had the chance to know different people and realities of Palermo and they have learnt how to record with a video-camera. The working team has also interviewed several social educators in order to deepen in all the problems that the recording process helped to come out. One of the most emotive moments of the recording phase has happened in the main residence of the “Missione di Speranza e Carità”, guided by Biagio Conte.
“Crossing the Line – Palermo” has taken place in different areas of the city -Brancaccio, Ballarò, Foro Italico, Piazza Politeama, La Magione, La Noce, San Lorenzo and Lo Zen- in order to have a global impression about the city and to share it with the rest of the European partners.
“Crossing the Line” is a project under the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Commission. The Dutch, Romanian and Bulgarian partner organizations of CESIE are developing contemporary the same kind of documentaries in their cities. For 2011, a meeting is planned in Palermo with all participants, during which will be projected the film “Crossing the Line”, produced by the various pieces of the documentaries filmed in each country.
