How to support children from pre-school in learning through gaming and technology?
How to help teachers in stimulating autonomy, creativity and critical thinking in the minor?
SEEDS project started at the end of November to develop a common and European pedagogy for kindergartens, in response to the challenges of the digital age. CESIE and its European partners will conduct a research on existing methodologies in kindergarten and create a special “toolkit” containing information on: the type of game/technology, the material to make it and the linked teaching methodology.
The project activities include:
- the creation of “experimenting communities” as dynamic learning groups, in which the teacher learns and gets involved, experimenting directly with his/her pupils a series of games and technologies.
- the experimentation of new games and technologies inside the local experimenting communities and across the partners countries
- the organization of 2 international training courses for teachers, as well as several events and activities to disseminate the results of the project.
The first meeting between the 5 partners, organized by VIFIN, took place in Vejle (Denmark) from 22 to 23 November 2018.
Marien Andersen, representative of VIFIN (with the collaboration of Vejle Municipality) presented the project which includes an initial phase of research of the existing methodologies in kindergartens. During the two days, the partners expressed their intention to work closely with teachers and schools, proposing tests and workshops in the classrooms, as well as recommendations for a social entrepreneurial and digital pedagogical framework for European preschools.
CESIE who works for a more inclusive and accessible education for all, it will be responsible for promoting interculturality and social inclusion, sensitizing European teachers to deal with diversity in their classes (migrant children, SEN students, minors having different social and cultural backgrounds).
The next partnership meeting, together with the first teacher training, will take place on 4-8 February 2019 in Aarhus (Denmark). It will be coordinated by professionals, from the CUDIM Center of the University of Aarhus, who already work in integrating existing digital technologies into practical innovative education.
