A study visit on “Use of web-based tools for teaching and flexible, innovative and creative learning ” has been held in Santiago de Compostela from the 16th to the 20st of June. The study visits were part of the Transversal Programme under the Life Long Learning Programme (LLP). In particular, they represented an opportunity to promote debate, exchange and reciprocal learning on common interest subjects and European and national priority issues.
The study visit to Santiago de Compostela was attended by teachers, educators and no-profit experts coming from more than 10 European countries, who shared different experiences and knowledge about the subjects proposed. The coordinating institution, the University of Compostela, is the main responsible for a series of initiatives which involve both schools (of every grade) and professional training institutions aiming to foster the use of IT tools in ‘formal’ and ‘non-formal’ learning. The principle underlying the activities presented throughout the visit is that the use of IT tool for learning purposes enable to promote a creative and innovative learning improving and facilitating knowledge and skills, especially in young people. Therefore, teachers should be encouraged to participate in training programmes in order to learn how to use IT tools which can help them to develop and convey new skills, but it is also important to remember that they need to be supported by schools in this process of innovation.
Thanks to this experience, CESIE became familiar with new best practices in e-learning and web-based methodologies, as well as in enhancing entrepreneurship and innovation skills. These resources will be applied to on-going and future projects, and to support actions for the development of local training agencies
