From the 2nd to 9th of August 2013 will take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, the International exchange “Social Media as a tool for social change”
Youngsters from both side of the Mediterranean will meet and discuss about how social media can reinforce participation of young people in their democracy and in political issues. Most people agree that media is powerful in promoting healthy democratic rights of people. The project aims at developing a wide understanding and exchanges a better conception of the role of Social Media in Community change, focusing on different youth activists practices through different channels. They will reflects on the feedback given by their governments toward their needs and demands.
Participants will share experiences and various understandings of social media and its role in community development. They will have the opportunity to meet different stakeholders and youth-based political movement who played major roles in the Egyptian revolution. They will also be developing together a solid knowledge on the issue, creating a common frame work of their existence as active citizens in their societies. They will learn how to use social media in a peaceful and positive way to demonstrate their needs and demands, as well as to promote youth participation and the work of their institutions.
CESIE is looking for: 6 participants (18 – 30 years) and 1 Group Leader (no age limit).
Costs:
- 70% of the flight ticket will be refunded
- 100% accommodation and food covered by the project
- 60 euro fee.
