Is it possible to support sports clubs and at the same time to contribute to the social cohesion and intercultural dialogue?

SAVE is a new Erasmus + Sport project officially began with the first  international meeting  which took place on 8-9 February in Kaunas (Lithuania).

The aim of the project is:

  • to promote and increase the acquisition of skills and competences of trainers in sport such as discipline, team work and perseverance through informal and sports training activities to fight and defeat violence and social exclusion;
  • to support sports clubs that are engaged in amateur sports, increase their services and the number of young people practicing their activities;
  • to help sport clubs in their daily activities promoting intercultural dialogue and the exchange of good practices;
  • to eliminate violence from sports and channel the energy of those who practice it into inclusive and fair play practices.

During the first project meeting, we tackled important topics such as the best methodologies to be implemented and how to involve the largest number of young people and pupils in the project activities. The next steps of the consortium will consist of the following activities:

  • A gap analysis through desk and field research on the current sport situation to assess target’s needs;
  • the develpment of a SAVE online platform;
  • the definition of SAVE curriculum for trainers;
  • the implementation of a pilot training of community coaches and students;
  • the realisation of SAVE Training KIT.

SAVE – Sport against violence and exclusion is funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus + KA2 Sport program: Support to Collaborative Partnerships and involves the following partners:
