CESIE would like to invite you to some events that will take place under “Mediterranean for gender Equality and Rights – MER” project, a training course that will be held in Palermo, Sicily, from 15th to 23rd of June 2014 co-funded by Action 3.1 of the Youth in Action Program.
40 youth workers coming from European and EuroMed countries ( as Algeria, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Spain, Palestine, Italy, Greece, Romania, Germany, France, Tunisia, Lebanon, Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Slovenia, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Palestine) will learn, share knowledge and debate about gender issues, stereotypes and sexuality during the 8 days of the training course.
These subjects will be explored throughout the course by using both informal and innovative methods (Reciprocal Maieutic Approach, Theatre of the Oppressed, art laboratories) in order to dismantle gender stereotypes. This will allow the participants to detect the discriminations based on gender within the society, letting them acquire new tools to fight against them and promoting both an active citizenship and a global participation.
TC specific objectives:
- To raise awareness on citizenship rights through an intercultural dialogue as follow up of EU Year 2013
- To encourage participants to tackle gender and sexual orientation discrimination and marginalisation on youth, so building a more inclusive society based on solidarity among youth
- To provide tools to raise the quality of youth work against discrimination, promoting EUROMED cooperation in the youth field.
