How to valorize the courage of minors that burn the frontiers to build a new life?

How to support and provide them the opportunity of growing both personally and professionally?

RAGAZZI HARRAGA – Social Inclusion Processes for unaccompanied minors in the city of Palermo has foreseen 5 laboratory paths, started last October: Dance, Video, Expressive, Intercultural, Rights and Cohabitation.

The workshops have the aim to stimulate the young participants:

  • to raise awareness of their own talents and learning desires;
  • to develop soft skills;
  • to provide them occasions to socialise and to get in relation with other young people living in Palermo.

The workshops are under way and will end in January- February 2018. Following this, the second cycle of workshops will begin.

However, the intercultural workshop is going to an end.

It has been an intensive path: participants discussed each other on important issues such as identities, religions, and cultures that meet and merge together to create new, rich culture in which everyone can recognize each other.

They visited a mosque with an Imam and a church with Don Enzo – director of Santa Chiara – gave them the deep and collective meaning of religions. They reflected on what it means to move in a new country that has different cultural, civic and linguistic codes and what are the strategies to include themselves and become active citizens, protagonists of their choices.

Finally, the guys organized a party under the supervision of the facilitators, Ben and Numu, and want to share with other young people and anyone interested their cultural traditions, their learning path, music and food.
