How can we create safe environments where children and adolescents feel listened to and protected?
Thanks to the SHIELD project, we are pleased to present a new thematic platform dedicated to the prevention of violence and the promotion of active participation among young people. This digital space is designed to offer practical tools to parents, educators and professionals who work with minors in all areas.
childrensafehub.eu is now online, a space offering practical and theoretical resources that focuses on rights, prevention and participation. The underlying objective is to recognise all forms of violence, combat the myths that normalise it, and provide practical tools for timely action on all fronts, from institutions to schools, homes and youth centres.
Each section offers accessible resources, information materials and practical guidance on how to prevent, detect and deal with risky situations.
Why is this important?
Because violence against children is not inevitable. It can be prevented through:
- rights education
- clear, evidence-based information
- active participation of children and adolescents
- strengthened and expanded skills for adults in positions of authority
At the heart of this space is the promotion of children’s and adolescents’ rights, with a clear mission to make the world a safer place for everyone, preventing all forms of violence, ensuring protection and encouraging their active participation. This vision translates into concrete practices that always include the perspective of minors, structuring every intervention based on their needs, their priorities and even their dreams. Only by ensuring that they are listened to and involved in decisions affecting their safety can we, as a society, take a decisive step towards truly effective and transformative protection.
Check out the latest resources and materials created. The platform is dynamic and constantly updated to integrate new research, new knowledge, training materials and results to promote greater awareness and knowledge in favour of child protection. With this new space, we want to offer concrete tools, but also to strengthen a culture based on rights, trust and the active participation of children and adolescents, listening, creating, understanding and accompanying.
Because every minor deserves to grow up feeling safe, respected and supported in their life journey. And building more protected environments is a commitment that we are committed to pursuing collectively.
