From the 31st of January to the 3rd of February, a Visit Study on the theme “Improving entrepreneurial competences of teachers and trainers” took place in Belgium. In general, the Study Visits are part of the Transversal Programme inside the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). In particular, they promote the European cooperation, the sharing of information and experiences amongst specialists both of the educational and professional field.
Teachers, trainers, and workers of the non-profit sector, from up to ten different countries, took part in the Study Visit in Brussels, sharing different experiences and knowledge, often complementary, about the theme above mentioned. The organizer, DBO, an agency of the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, (http://onderwijs.vlaanderen.be//nl/directies-en-administraties) is the main actor of a series of initiatives that involves both schools (of every grade) and training professional schools in the continuous training of teachers and trainers. The basic principle of the activities, shown during the Visit, is that only by making trainers more “entrepreneurial” it will be possible to transmit competences, such as creativity and sense of initiative to students. This way, teachers are motivated to participate to training sessions in companies or to use ICT tools to develop and transmit these competences.
Thanks to this experience, CESIE gained knowledge of new good practices both on continuing professional development and on of sense of initiative and innovation development. These resources will be emphasized into current and future projects, as well as the continuous support to the development of the training field at local level.
