Guess what…is non-formal education! is a training course under the Action 4.3 of the Youth in Action programme aimed to increase the quality of youth work in Europe. The 40 participants come from the following European countries: Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey and UK. The main themes of the course are: non-formal education, participation, learning democracy and social inclusion. The methodologies of the course are cooperative learning, experiential learning, peer to peer learning and participation. The main activities forecast are: team building, energiser, role play, work in small groups, etc.

The course is open to youth workers and trainers, social workers, volunteers in the youth sector and educators who: are committed and motivated to work directly with young people; have a general knowledge and understanding of youth and youth work realities in their contexts; are motivation and interested in the themes of the project, are motivated to undergo training and able to attend the course for its full duration, have a multiplying effect, are willing to carry on the follow up activities developed during the course, are supported by the partner organisation in their current and future work.

The aims are: facilitate the attainment of knowledge, skills and attitudes in the framework of non-formal education; increase the quality and quantity of projects using non-formal education approach; boost non-formal education reputation and sensitise about its value and impact in the field of youth work.

There will be a free and open to the public intercultural evening on Wednesday 13th of July, 20h30, at the Convento dei Carmelitani in Via Giovanni Grasso, 13 (near Piazza del Carmine, Ballarò) Palermo. There will be food, music, dances, and above all, a lot of interculturality!
