TATRAC – Call for applications for the selection of Sicilian associations

CESIE, the University of Catania – industrial engineering department – and the SO.GE.V.I. – Società di gestione della Valle d’Ippari –,as partners within the TATRAC project – Tissu Associatif et Transfert de Connaissances [Network of Associations and Knowledge Transfer], funded by the ENPI Programme – Cross-border cooperation Italy-Tunisia 2007-2013, are issuing a call for application for the selection of 6 organisations (2 per partner and per relevant area of competence) to contribute to the achievement of part of the project activities.

The 6 associations will be selected within the following sectors and supervised by the three partners of the project, according to the following distribution:

• 2 associations within the education / culture sector (CESIE)
• 2 associations within the environment / renewable energy sector (UNICT)
• 2 associations within the agriculture / food farming / fishery sector (SO.GE.V.I.).

The selection will be carried out in compliance with the following general criteria agreed by the members of the project’s Steering Committee:

• The VAT number and fiscal code of each association is required
• Each association must operate and prove that it operates and/or collaborate within one of the above-mentioned sectors
• Each association must be well-experienced and have an effective methodology to transfer knowledge in its specific area of competence
• Each association must have gained a significant experience in acting as an intermediary between academic institutions and the socio-economic world, or have a status enabling it to work in the above-mentioned role.
• Each association must have competencies and internal resources enabling it to follow the training sessions within the framework of the project in its area of competence.

The selected associations will be involved in the training activities provided within the framework of the TATRAC project, addressed to some representatives of Tunisian associations. Namely, the associations will host some visits in their headquarters and will share with the participants their own best practices within their area of competence. The selected associations in Sicily will moreover participate to a training session in Tunisia. The involvement of the selected associations will take place on a volunteer base.

During the possible training abroad, travel expenses and room and board will be covered by the project.
