We are proceeding steadly with the work of the project iLikeIT2 – Learning Through Innovative Collaboration Enhanced by Educational Technology, aimed at contributing to the improvement of collaborative work processes in the classroom by developing a new online tool (the iLikeIT2 software).

During the last meeting in Athens, which took place on 19-20 October 2021, the project partners validated the first phase of the research, which involved the analysis of about 50 major learning tools already on the market, in order to understand their functionalities and limitations that favour or inhibit collaboration in the classroom.

This research included a comparative analysis of how each tool contributes to the processes of communication, collaboration and coordination (the 3 Cs) essential to collaborative work in the classroom. Functionalities were identified and will be tested by groups of teachers and students. In the coming months, the project partners will develop “cases” on which the participants in the pilot testing will have to work with tools and assess their functions.

During the meeting, partners also validated the research questionnaires to be submitted to the participants as well as the guidelines and the “script” for the “Reflectional conversations” with the participants. These tools are necessary to ensure the homogeneity and coherence of the data obtained from the conversations in the different partner countries, which will be analysed to obtain indications and suggestions for the development of the iLikeIT2 software.

The prototype of the iLikeIT2 software will be tested. In addition, the project partnership will develop not only the user manual of the tool but also a pedagogical strategy and a toolkit for collaborative work to support educational innovation and diversification of education and training methodologies.
