Nine months EVS in Portugal with a young and active organization dealing with youth empowerment.
BLOOM – Associação Sócio-Cultural is a non-profit organization founded in March 2008, based in Lousã.
BLOOM works in different regions in Portugal, mainly in the country side.
Our mission:
To support, consult, develop and implement social, cultural and educational projects with a national and international dimension, to empower initiatives and organizations, in the local community, mainly addressed to youth.
Volunteers will:
- To develop and implement social cultural and educational activities in order to promote the well- being.
- To promote cooperation and to support network development.
- To coach, support and empower local organizations and initiatives, mainly of youth and rural areas, to increase local development.
- To promote local traditions, participation, citizenship, competences and personal skills.
- To develop international projects, mainly at European level.
- To foster the social cohesion, the intercultural dialogue, the mutual understanding, the tolerance, solidarity, fight against racism, human rights and equal opportunities, having as reference the European values.
- To spread youth information and increase the access to information.
- To promote Ecological environment practices.
- To promote the quality, quantity, value and access to national and international voluntary work.
The volunteer will live together with other volunteers from the Netherlands, Latvia, Spain and France.
