Would you like to volunteer but you don’t know where yet? Are you ready to live an unforgettable experience? This is the opportunity you were waiting for!
CESIE is looking for 2 volunteers to cooperate in the activities of “Jeunesse en action GNO FAR”, a Senegalese organization, under the project PANGEA which will take place in Zinguinchor, Senegal, for a lapse of time of 6 months, from the 1st of September until the 28th of February 2015.
Would you like to have a great experience in the Southwest Africa? Zinguinchor is the state capital of the region of the same name. It is located near to the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, on the left side of the river Casamance, in the narrowed line belonging to Senegal situated to the South of the state of Gambia.
The PANGEA project will involve 5 volunteers coming from different European countries: Italy, France, Hungary and Spain. They will take part in the activities promoted by the welcoming association and the local centers.
The volunteers will act as facilitators of different indoor and outdoor activities intended for young people and children, and also of activities aiming at increasing language skills in French and English or relating to sport and entertainment. The cultural exchange will be the key strength of this project in which the voluntary workers and the local community will play, hopefully, an important role by being part of a positive relationship made of mutual growth.
The volunteers will contribute to the development and growth of the hosting association GNO FAR, born out of the will of some Senegalese young people from Casamance who decided to become an active part of their own city by both contributing to the development of the local activities and supporting the personal and professional growth of the volunteers that will be selected.
Programme schedule: from Monday to Friday, 6-7 hours per day including the implementation of the tasks and the preparation of the activities. Usually weekends are off. A referent for the activities, a language teacher and a tutor will be involved in the work of volunteers day by day. After the arrival, volunteers will attend an introductive training which will help them integrate into the community and get ready to work.
Volunteers will receive a monthly pocket money and will be hosted by local families in order to integrate and go deeper into the charm of the African culture.
If you would like to apply, please prepare your CV and covering letter in English, explaining why you wish to be involved in the project and how you can contribute to it, and send them to Roberta Lo Bianco – mobility@cesie.org
Deadline: 18th of June 2014
