Do you want to work for a centre dealing with minors in trouble? Do you wish to roll up your sleeves and help children and adolescents?
A centre based 5 km away from Graz (AT) needs you; its name is Children’s Village and it takes care of the orphans and children who, due to several reasons, do not live with their parents any more.
The centre lodges about 40 children coming from different provinces of Austria. There you can find a park, a swimming pool, a soccer field and a basketball court. The staff is made up of teachers, educators, social workers and psychologists. For further information go to the web site.
The project that lasts 10 months it’s coordinated by the organisation Logo Euinfo which has a great experience as regards interculture, volunteering and cultural exchanges for young people.
The volunteer will work at the centre every afternoon from Monday to Friday. He/she will share an apartment with 2 other volunteers coming from different European countries in the amazing city centre of Graz, declared world heritage of the Unesco in 1999, and make use of the public transport to go to Children’s Village.
His/her tasks are supporting children/adolescents in their school activities and organizing recreational activities (games, sports, music).
The volunteer will have to establish a good working relationship with the staff and to give his/her contribution to the cultural growth of the guests of the centre, by sharing with them some aspects of their own culture such as music, language and cooking.
The volunteer will establish a trustful relationship with the young guests so as to develop with them new possibilities for the future.
Activities will start on 01/02/2012 and finish on 01/12/2012.
