CESIE is looking for one Italian volunteer interested in an EVS project in Cameroon in the field of teaching to children. The volunteer period will last 6 months: from 1 September 2013 to 28 February 2014.
The project is managed and promoted by CAPEC – Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child, and will take place in a school for orphans and children from low income families. The volunteer will have the unique opportunity to work as a teacher in the school and to help out in the orphanage or the handicapped centre during the holidays.
The teaching activities which will be carried out by the volunteer include the following branches of knowledge:
- humanities, English language, mathematics etc., under the supervision of a local teacher, which will help the volunteers in getting familiar with the school and the kids;
- computer program, wherein the volunteers will introduce the children to the world of computers;
- environmental education and gardening;
- sports and recreational activities;
- organic agriculture;
- music.
