The tourism industry affects the global economy and regional development, as well as it exerts an indisputable impact on the social and cultural sphere, on the socio-psychological status of individuals and on the environment. The issue of its sustainable development and effective management is of paramount importance. How to support adequate growth of the tourism sector in the face of the profound changes of our society?

Participate to the 7th edition of the BTE, Borsa del Turismo Extralberghiero, organized by Confesercenti Sicilia from November 10 to 12, 2023, in the exhibition spaces of the Cruise Terminal of the port of Palermo. Since the first edition, more than 1,000 companies in the Sicilian extra-hotel sector have presented their offer to foreign markets, and more than 150 international buyers have attended the event.

The event intends to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences in the tourism sector, in order to increase the visibility of the regional extra-hotel offer and create new connections at international level, through: meetings between local businesses and international tour operators; the ExpoBTE, an exhibition space to promote new connections between the extra-hotel sector, providers of services for the hospitality operators and all components of experiential tourism, including art, culture, and tastings; educational tours on the territory dedicated to foreign buyers; and training seminars on the latest developments in the tourism sector.

Among the seminars and conferences organized during this edition, on Saturday, the Round Table “International Cooperation in Tourism Development Strategies” will take place on November 11th, from 10.00 to 11.00 AM.
