What happens when innovation meets passion for a better future? We talked about it in Palermo, between 12 and 16 May 2025, during the HyPro4ST great ending.

A packed agenda of events involved all stakeholders interested in a more ethical and sustainable tourism!

On Monday 12 May, we kicked off the final project conference, arriving at the Istituto Pietro Piazza in Palermo. The objective? To introduce the new frontiers of hybrid and digital project management in the sustainable tourism sector. Young students, next to join the job market, experienced the real outcomes of HyPro4ST, discovering in particular the training opportunity of the VOOC course

Among the special speakers was also Penny Kazaki, project coordinator, who gave a comprehensive overview of the achievements.

Works continued on Wednesday 14 May with the final project meeting hosted in our spaces. It was a fundamental moment to pull the strings of this journey that has lasted three years, to celebrate the results achieved and to prepare for the last steps together with the other international partners in the beautiful setting of Palermo.

The protagonists on 15 May were 18 studentsɜ from different countries, engaged in the Second Work-Based Learning activity of HyPro4ST, which was the culmination of their training activities. These young people, who completed the VOOC course, had the unique opportunity to engage with the excellence of sustainable tourism in Palermo. The morning saw a meeting at Moltivolti  and, in the afternoon, the learners moved to Addiopizzo Travel’s MuST 23 Museum. The two experiences were greatly appreciated by the participants, who described them as educational and stimulating.

The great ending of HyPro4ST took place on Friday 16 May at the Real Teatro Santa Cecilia with the closing conference that gathered leading experts in sustainable tourism. A rich and articulate debate explored the digitisation and ‘projectisation’ of the sector, outlining a more sustainable future. Among the keynote speeches were those of the City of Palermo’s Councillor for Tourism, Alessandro Anello, and the General Manager of SCN, Ioannis Georgizas. And to close on a high note, a talk and concert by Radiodervish, who explored the unique role of music in the context of sustainable tourism.
