How teaching practice has changed during the first two months of the pandemic? Which challenges await English language teachers in the upcoming years?
AROSE aims at helping English language teachers improve their professional competences so as to allow student of upper secondary schools to enhance their speaking and listening skills. The pandemic scenario has certainly contributed to accelerate ongoing changes in the educational world; therefore, partner organisations are now called upon answering new needs and challenges.
Held online due to the restrictions determined by COVID-19 pandemic, AROSE second partner meeting allowed partner organisation to reflect upon those challenges, as well as to discuss about progresses and schedule future initiatives in the frame of the project. In particular, CARM, which is responsible of the design of the oral skills assessment model, has presented the main structure of the repository of OER along with the rubric. As for the latter, partner organisations have finally agreed to concentrate on two CEFR levels (A2 and B2). Moreover, the University of Murcia has described the main features of the digital platform which have been identified thanks to the contribution of English language teachers working in partner schools. Partner organisation hope that this platform may facilitate English language teaching within European schools.
CESIE is actively engaged in the implementation and it is currently working on planning the training course which will be held in 2021 and will be focused on AROSE methodologies and main outcomes.
