Bullying is on the rise both at national and European level.

The spread of violence and abuses among students shows the difficulty of schools as well as teachers in guaranteeing the safety and the inclusion of pupils in the class group.

It is necessary to support teachers in promoting accessible and inclusive school education for all.

In June 2014, EAN – European Anti-bullying Network was born elaborate a common European strategy to fight bullying in schools. Now, the network counts 19 members from 15 European Countries.

In accordance with EAN main aims, from the 24th to the 28th September 2018, we will host the first ABC – Anti-Bullying Certification teachers and students training. During this five days, students and teachers from 5 different countries will meet in Palermo to exchange on bullying and achieve a common methodology to prevent the phenomenon.

ABC intends to fight against social inclusion and create more safety in schools supporting teachers in developing competences to deal with conflict, bullying, social exclusion and discrimination, with special attention to minors groups.

In two years, we will evaluate teachers’ skills and school context, through the administration of a school safety survey to check the level of security, perceived and real, among the classes. Moreover, we will develop new tools for to counter bullying, as well as to face with social diversity in school: migrant, disabled and LGBT pupils.

Based on listening, self-reflection and group building process, the training program for students and teachers both will be followed by two meetings in Liverpool and Brussels, at the end of which an anti-bullying certification will be issued as synonymous with the skills and qualities required and achieved by teachers to counteract bullying.
