foto 5CESIE is looking for 1 volunteer for an EVS project addressed to Italian youth (aged from 18 to 30 years).

 When?

11 months, from December 2015 to October 2016.

Where?

The project will take place in Laguépie, a small village of 730 inhabitants, in a region called “Pays Midi-Quercy”, that is in a rural and isolated area, about 100 kilometres far from Toulouse.

The project is managed by Association Citrus, an association created in 2002 and based in Laguépie since 2009. They are one of the seven regional offices of the Solidarités Jeunesses, a movement that fits in a long history of promoting peace.

Which activities?

Activities:

  • Manual work: volunteer will be involved in the renewing and reconstructing of an old farm called “La Mayounelle” and of its buildings, in order to create a center of reception and intercultural meeting, as well as in the restoration of some small buildings in the surrounding municipalities. The work is undertaken in a team, and managed under the responsibility of a qualified leader.
  • Local animation: the volunteers will participate regularly in activities of local animation, in cultural events or in educational activities organized in partnership with other municipalities, institutions and local associations. For example, the association supports the local schools to set up workshops regarding the environment, in the frame of a project about collective garden.
  • Work-camps: long term volunteers may become camp leaders during the summer in other villages of the region, under the support of the permanent staff. Every year, a collective training of one week is organized by Solidarités Jeunesses to enable young volunteers to acquire the skills needed to lead a work-camp. They can also be involved in the preparation of work-camps (pre-negotiation meetings, logistic support, establishment of tools, selection of the location etc.)

Volunteers will work about 30-35 hours per week and take their holidays in consultation with the team, according to the season and needs of the association. Two half days per week will be devoted to the conception and the realization of a personal project and to language support.

Costs?

The costs of food, accommodation and local transport will be fully covered by the host organization. Furthermore the volunteer will receive a monthly pocket money for personal extra expenses. Travel costs (go and back) are covered up to 275 Euros. Finally, the project provides a medical insurance.
