The project PICASA – Promoting Internationalization of HEIs in Eastern Neighborhood Countries through Cultural and Structural Adaptations (Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Belarus).
To monitor first achievements [development of ‘Policy Guidelines’ and ‘revision of International Relations Offices (IRO) roles and functions] the Partner Country Institutions could benefit from EU site-visits with the aim to support the internationalisation process through face to face meetings with the top management, academic and administrative staff, National Erasmus+ office and students to focus on the envisaged main qualitative changes at Institution level underlying future priorities and action plans to embed the culture of internationalisation also into:
- curriculum development
- human resource management
- quality management
- investments in infrastructure
[The first site-visits were organised to monitor the involved HEIs of the Republic of Belarus]
On 20th to 24th of April the team of Michaël Joris (UC Leuven-Limburg, Belgium) and Jelena Mazaj (CESIE, Italy) carried out the site-visits in Georgia at:
- Ilja State University
- Iane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
- Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi
- Batumi Shola Rustaveli State University
As site-visits have proven the Institutions are on the right track, starting for example by establishing Language departments, or by including ‘Civic Participation’ and ‘Career Development’ courses into each study programme, provided in English.
