On March 24-27, 2015 team of experts from partner universities under the Tempus project PICASA “Promoting Internationalization of HEIs in Eastern Neighborhood Countries throughout Cultural and Structural Adaptations” performed a site visit to Belarusian project partners to discuss internationalization strategies and policies of universities.
The team of three experts including the Project Coordinator Deputy Vice Rector and Head of the International Cooperation Office from Yerevan State University Prof. Dr. Alexander Markarov, CESIE (Italy) and Bridget Mary Middlemas from the University of Roehampton, United Kingdom, worked closely with staff members from International Relations Offices (IRO) at
- Belarusian State University (BSU)
- Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronic (BSUIR) and
- Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (YKSUG)
to discuss functions and roles of IROs in order to come out with possible ways of its revision and optimization and to develop internationalization strategies.
During the site visit BSU project team presented to the European experts the findings of the needs analysis of BSU international activity based on feedback from faculties and institutes. Key issues related to international profile of the University, culture of internationalization and curricular transformations were discussed during the meeting featuring representatives of four DIR offices.
The Coordination Meeting at BSU attended by the Head of International Office of the Ministry of Education of Belarus wrapped-up the site visit. The Project Coordinator presented up-to-date project progress and elaborated on future activities planned. Participants shared their experience on stay at Belarusian universities and agreed on the success of the site-visit held.
