This opportunity of EVS is addressed to those who, thinking of doing an experience as volunteer abroad, wish to dedicate themselves to gender issues considering conflicts between students and teenagers about this topic.
This EVS lasts ten moths in Sweden, in the youth center of Broslatt, situated in the center of Molndal, the twin town of Gotemborg, in the west part of Sweden.
The volunteer will be included in a team of 8 international volunteers and he will share home and activities with them.
In young people’s mentality, depending on their background, is spread a shadow or a wall of prejudices and racism; the volunteer will be engaged in working in schools and recreational centers, according to eradicate this kind of behaviours and to change mentality. To reach this objective, during the period of EVS, the volunteer will participate actively in workshops and cultural events and demostrations to promote gender equality.
Volunteers will work 35 hours per week, divided in 2 night shifts, with the opportunity to take part in the network “Human rights/Gender equality interest network” and to develop and follow one personal project.
We are looking for a volunteer who is at the least 22 years old and preferably interested to gender themes and who has some experiences with teenagers.
The departure is on September 2011.
