CESIE is continuing the Exact project (Accademia di Eccellenza per Formatori-Excellence academy for trainers), of the European Commission “Lifelong Learning” Programme. Within the website of the project (www.exact4.eu) it is possible to find a selection of training modules that are currently being tested by different actors. The tests consists in the actual use of these products with students plus the evaluation of the impact they have on them. Also CESIE, as well as the other project partners, conducted a few tests in April and May.
In particular, the 3rd of May 2011, in Palermo, a few activities have taken place for a group of 7 European Volunteers from five different countries. The training modules that have been tested are:
“SOCCER: SHOP TIL YOU DROP” (Brochure) : this activity is included in an handbook, which is one of the outcomes of the Soccer project, and it was inspired by the website. www.ueinternational.org/shop.
It faced many issues, such as poverty and budgeting, and students were involved in a exercise on planning and managing their own economic resources. The training modules were very useful and easy to apply.
“CONFERENCE AGAINST RACISM”: it is a module consisting in a musical and an intercultural session, chosen from the broad programme of multicultural activities that have been proposed by the Project to prevent and fight against many different kinds of racism. The seven European Volunteers participated in the interchange of musical competences and the test actually became a moment of cultural enrichment and tolerance as well.
These two trainings were very important moments where it was possible to evaluate two of the “good practices” proposed by Exact, in both cases with surprisingly positive results.
