2026 marked the first edition of the European Higher Education Transformation Week (HETW), an initiative dedicated to innovations in the world of universities and research, with a particular focus on digitalization, sustainability, energy management, and new approaches to education.
On this occasion, we at CESIE ETS participated in the event by presenting the methodology developed within ABCinEnergy, contributing to the discussion on new perspectives for more sustainable and innovative higher education. HETW brings together a dense network of events and meetings that will be held in the city of Brussels, the beating heart of European cooperation, from October 12 to 15, 2026.
On October 12, we at CESIE ETS hosted an immersive meeting dedicated to ABCinEnergy, during which we presented the context and methodology of the initiative, creating an opportunity for discussion with various educational institutions interested in promoting more conscious and sustainable habits regarding energy consumption. The lab was an opportunity to delve deeper into ABCinEnergy’s innovative approach, designed to raise awareness about energy consumption and encourage the adoption of more conscious and sustainable habits. During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to experience the Habit Tracker Platform, the initiative’s main resource: a gamified digital platform that allows them to monitor their energy consumption and gain greater awareness through an interactive and engaging experience.
On 14 October, on the other hand, CESIE ETS participated in the HETW plenary session, which brought together the institutions involved to reflect on the impact of the event and to discuss the prospects for innovation at European level, with particular emphasis on the contribution that higher education institutions can make to the well-being of European and global communities.
The HETW experience represents a starting point for ABCinEnergy’s upcoming activities. In the coming months, the consortium will bring the results and tools developed to several European countries, through events and meeting opportunities open to new realities and interested people.
