We all count Europe is at a turning point.

The project was born to promote political debate through the Internet: in this connection, the start-up platform Kuorum.org has been used for getting the institutions closed to the population to build an engaged society. Thanks to the contribution of the partners and users, the platform have been improved in the last few months:

  • the registration process to the platform has been simplified;
  • citizens and politicians profiles have been uniformed. Citizens can now publish their proposals as well;
  • the debate takes place in a more direct way.

The 2017 aim is to reach more people and promote the benefits of using the platform in terms of improvement of participation and co-creation of policy proposals.

During the third project meeting, hosted by University of Konstanz (Germany) the 12th and 13th of January, the five We all Count Europe organisations partners shared their first experience with online participation in their cities. One of Kuorum.org representatives held a training moment focused on the use of the platform and the presentation of the new features introduced. A second activity was proposed by the training partners about the improvement of the training addressed to citizens.

A joint event between policy makers and citizens was the last event of the first cycle of activities held in the city of Alcobendas in Spain, Kaunas in Lithuania, Innsbruck in Austria, Palermo in Italy e Mannheim in Germany. The joint event in Palermo “We all count Palermo- Experiment of online participation” was hosted September 23rd 2016 at Moltivolti. Two local politicians presented their political proposals and invited a group of young citizens to comment them. The video of the event summarizes the main moments of the meeting and also collects the participant impressions related to the platform and the meeting itself.

In 2017, three main meetings will be organised with citizens and politicians and a final joint event as well. The past experience and the confrontation between the partners highlighted similarities, differences and critical issues that they had to face in their contexts.

We all Count Europe is coming back to Palermo. If you want to know more about Kuorum.org platform  and taking part to trainings and debates as a politician or a citizen in the next months, please contact Caterina Impastato.
