On the 23rd and 24th of June 2015, the fourth international meeting of the ViPER project “Volunteers in Playwork – Employment Routes”, co-funded by the former Lifelong Learning Programme (Transfer of Innovation (ToI) action) of the European commission, took place in Budapest, Hungary.

During the meeting, the partners from England, Portugal, Italy, Czech Republic, Turkey and Austria had the opportunity to present the results obtained throughout the pilot phase of the Volunteers in Playwork training course which was carried out in each participating country between March and May 2015. The training course, which is dedicated to volunteers who work with children, deepened the following topics: the right of the child to engage in play, how play is vital for children’s growth, the safety measures to be respected when working with children and how to include every child in a play situation.

During this pilot phase, the training course has been tested and evaluated by the volunteers. Thanks to their feedbacks, the training course will be available online for free and adapted in all partner languages (English, Italian, Hungarian, Austrian, Portuguese, Czech, and Turkish).

During the meeting, apart from discussing the final version of the training course, the partners planned the last project’s activities which will end on September. They also agreed on the actions to be taken to make the training course sustainable and to ensure that the volunteers will benefit from it even after the end of the project. That is why the partners are drafting a sustainability plan for the training course. It will be presented during the last partner meeting which will be held on September in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
